The editor's read

Release 2608C is a larger certificate than July 2026, with 12,021 sailings, up 1,301. The mix is still heavily Caribbean-led at 8,117 sailings, followed by Mexico at 1,753. Alaska is the clearest non-Caribbean presence this month at 471 sailings, with smaller but usable pockets in Mediterranean, Asia, and Australia.

Average sailing length is 5.4 nights, up 0.1 night from the prior release. That is not a meaningful shift by itself, but it does reinforce the same pattern seen across the book: short-to-midlength casino offers dominate, while the longer, higher-value itineraries sit at the top tiers.

The first two-guest tier remains 800 points. The first balcony two-guest tier remains 1,200 points. Those breakpoints did not move versus the prior month, so the entry structure is stable.

Below that, 400 and 600 point offers are still one-guest cruise fare only, and the 800 point tier is the first place where the certificate starts to open up in a more practical way for Alaska and Mexico. At 1,200 points, balcony inventory becomes available and the itinerary mix broadens enough to matter for readers who want a real cabin upgrade rather than just a fare reduction.

The low end is thin. The 400 point tier has only 5 sailings, all interior GTY, with a best score of 79.5 on Serenade of the Seas for a 7 Night Pacific Coastal Cruise out of San Diego. The 600 point tier is still small at 52 sailings, but it is the first tier where Alaska becomes practical: Voyager of the Seas on a 7 Night Alaska Experience Cruise from Seattle is the top score in the tier.

The 800 point tier expands to 176 sailings and starts to look more usable. It is still mostly interior GTY, but the mix includes 40 oceanview GTY and 10 balcony GTY sailings. Alaska remains the standout region, with Voyager of the Seas again leading the tier.

At 1,200 points, the book gets materially better: 546 sailings, with 306 interior GTY, 152 oceanview GTY, and 88 balcony GTY. This is the first tier where Europe becomes practical this month. The unlock is Explorer of the Seas on a 7 Night Greece & Croatia Cruise at 1,200 points, which is the cleanest Europe entry point in the release.

From 1,500 through 4,000 points, the certificate becomes more balanced across interior, oceanview, and balcony. The 3,000 point tier is the first place where two-guest balcony offers become common enough to matter, and the 4,000 point tier adds a meaningful jump in balcony quality without changing the overall short-cruise bias.

The strongest single tier by score is 70,000 points. Mariner of the Seas on a 10 Night Greece, Italy & Croatia cruise from Barcelona leads the release with a score of 144 and $5,000 FreePlay. That tier also carries the broadest suite inventory, including Owners Suite, Royal Suite, Aqua Theater Suite, and other premium categories.

The best value at the lower end is 400 points, but only in a narrow sense: the tier is tiny, and the best sailing is a 7 Night Pacific Coastal Cruise. For most readers, the more useful value tiers are 600, 800, and 1,200, because those are where Alaska, Mexico, and Europe start to appear in a way that is actually bookable.

Compared with July 2026, the release is larger overall and the average free play is higher. The historical comparison shows a +$450.5 per-tier free-play change versus the prior month, but that increase is not driven by a single universal cut or raise. The lower tiers gained free play at 1,500, 2,000, 3,000, and 4,000 points, while the higher shared tiers stayed flat.

The first two-guest breakpoint and first balcony two-guest breakpoint both held steady at 800 and 1,200 points. That matters more than a small change in average nights, because it tells readers the structure of the certificate did not move even as the sailing count expanded.

The biggest practical takeaway is simple: this is a bigger book with the same breakpoints, modestly better free play in the mid tiers, and the same regional hierarchy. Caribbean still dominates volume, but Alaska and Europe are available earlier than many readers will expect.
