Royal Intel Monthly Report

September 2026 Instant Rewards Certificate (Version D)

Release 2609D is a smaller certificate than August 2026, with 10,922 sailings, down 1,042 sailings month over month. The average sailing length is 5.3 nights, essentially flat versus 5.4 nights prior month. Release 2609D is a smaller certificate than August 2026, with 10,922 sailings, down 1,042 sailings month over month. The average sailing length is 5.3 nights, essentially flat versus 5.4 nights prior month. The offer shape is still familiar: Caribbean dominates, short sailings remain the core of the book, and the strongest value still shows up in the upper suite tiers and in a few Asia and Mediterranean outliers.

The first two-guest threshold stays at 800 points, and the first balcony two-guest threshold stays at 1,200 points. That matters because the low end of the certificate is still anchored in one-guest cruise fare offers, while the first real step-up in cabin quality begins at 1,200 points.

Caribbean sailings account for 7,369 sailings, or roughly two-thirds of the release. Mexico is the next largest region at 1,689 sailings. Alaska is present but limited at 451 sailings, while Europe is thin at 88 sailings and Mediterranean at 318 sailings. Asia is larger than Europe at 393 sailings, which is why several of the best scores in the mid tiers come from Spectrum of the Seas itineraries out of Shanghai and Hong Kong.

By port, the certificate is concentrated in the Florida and U.S. West Coast markets. Fort Lauderdale leads with 1,590 sailings, followed by Miami at 1,449, Los Angeles at 1,245, Port Canaveral at 1,226, Tampa at 1,081, and Galveston at 914. San Juan, San Diego, Cape Liberty, and Brisbane round out the top ten.

Ship mix follows the same pattern. Radiance class leads at 2,192 sailings, followed by Oasis at 2,086, Quantum at 1,637, Voyager at 1,610, Freedom at 1,270, and Vision at 1,173. Icon is present but minimal at 19 sailings.

The 800 tier is the entry point for one-guest cruise fare offers. It is still a low-volume tier at 207 sailings, and the best options are Mexico and Caribbean sailings on Serenade, Voyager, Symphony, and Ovation. The 1,200 tier expands the field and is the first tier where balcony two-guest offers appear. It is also the first tier with meaningful Asia exposure, led by Spectrum of the Seas.

At 1,500 and 2,000 points, the certificate starts to open up more consistently across Asia, Mexico, Alaska, and Australia. The 1,500 tier includes a $100 FreePlay bonus on the best cruise, while the 2,000 tier reaches $150 FreePlay on the best cruise. By 3,000 points, the best score rises into the low 120s and Alaska becomes more visible, especially on Quantum of the Seas out of Seattle.

The 4,000 and 6,500 tiers are where the cabin mix shifts toward balcony and suite inventory. At 4,000 points, the mix is split between oceanview and balcony. At 6,500 points, balcony dominates and junior suite inventory starts to matter. The 9,000 tier is still mostly balcony and junior suite, but the best scores begin to favor longer Mediterranean sailings and premium Alaska options.

The 15,000 tier is the first place where junior suite inventory is the only cabin mix shown, and the strongest options move into Mediterranean and Alaska. The 25,000 tier is the strongest tier in this release by average score, with the best cruise landing at 144 on Mariner of the Seas: a 10-night Greece, Italy & Croatia sailing from Barcelona in a junior suite with $1,500 FreePlay.

Above that, 40,000 and 70,000 points are still strong, but the incremental gain is narrower than the jump from 15,000 to 25,000. The 40,000 tier tops out at $2,500 FreePlay, while the 70,000 tier reaches $5,000 FreePlay and brings in the full suite ladder, including Royal Suite, Owner’s Suite, Grand Suite, Grand Loft, Studio Oceanview Suite, and Ultimate Panoramic Suite.

The main month-over-month change is scale, not structure. Sailings are down 1,042 overall, but the first two-guest and first balcony two-guest breakpoints did not move. Free play is up $20.9 per sailing on average, but that is a mix shift, not a tier-by-tier increase. Shared tiers kept the same free play amounts; the average moved because the sailing mix shifted toward higher tiers.

That makes 2609D a cleaner read than a richer one. The certificate is smaller, but the tier ladder itself is stable, and the best value still sits in the same places: 25,000 points for the strongest overall value, 15,000 points for a lower entry into Europe and Alaska, and 800 to 2,000 points for the most accessible Caribbean and Mexico options.

Why This Month Matters

Most of this month sits in Caribbean (7369), with departures led by Fort Lauderdale, Florida (1590). That shapes the kind of certificate month this is.

For most players, the biggest practical step up looks like 6500 to 9000 points.

Month Shape

Europe opens at 1500 points, Alaska at 800 points, and longer sailings at 800 points.

The strongest overall tier is 25000 points, while the biggest jump in practical value comes at 6500 to 9000.

That mix makes this month feel more like Caribbean (7369) than a broad all-destination month.

Historical Comparison

This certificate has 1,042 fewer sailings than August 2026

2026-09 has 1,042 fewer sailings across all tiers than August 2026. Average free play is +$20.9 across the certificate, but the bigger change is how much smaller the sailing list is overall.
