What This Means
The best sailing is Voyager of the Seas on a 7 Night Alaska Advenighture Cruise from Seattle, with a score of 103.5. That is a solid result for the tier, and Alaska is the main reason 800 points remains worth a look. But the overall tier profile is thin: only 176 sailings, mostly in Interior - GOBO - GTY and Oceanview - GOBO - GTY, with very little balcony inventory.
The region mix is narrow as well. Caribbean leads, Mexico is second, and Alaska is a distant third. Europe is present only once in the top-five set, which tells you how limited the tier is outside the core warm-weather and Alaska routes.
Compared with the next tier up, 1,200 points, the 800-point tier is more constrained in both cabin quality and itinerary variety. It is also the lowest-scoring tier in the release’s strength model, which lines up with the inventory mix. This is the entry point for cruise fare offers, not the point where the certificate starts to feel flexible.
That does not make 800 points useless. It still surfaces Alaska and a few decent Mexico and Caribbean sailings. But if the goal is to find the first tier where the certificate starts to open up, 800 is not it.
