Club Royale's July certs: held, or quietly thinner than last year?
The gut says thinner
The July batch landed the first week of the month, and within a day the r/royalcaribbean casino thread had the same post it runs every year: these look lighter than last July. Someone sitting at 22,000 points opens the PDF, scans the free-play line, and feels it drop.

Never lose next July's anchor
SailQuery keeps every cert PDF filed by tier and batch, so the year-over-year read is already done for you.
Maybe it did drop. Maybe last July just felt richer because they walked off Symphony up two grand and everything looked generous. A feeling isn't a baseline. And almost nobody saved last July's certificate to hold next to this one, so the suspicion never gets settled. It just recirculates every batch.
The anchor problem
Call it the anchor problem. You can't confirm erosion without last year's document sitting next to this year's, and the sub-25K crowd almost never keeps it. So the belief that cert value is sliding is widespread, deeply held, and completely unfalsifiable in practice.
There's exactly one clean anchor for a monthly cert, and it isn't last month. It's the same calendar month a year back. July 2026 against July 2025 controls for the thing that actually moves these offers around, seasonality, and leaves the year-over-year signal standing on its own.
Why month-over-month is the wrong axis
The forum instinct is to compare this month's cert to last month's. That's the noisiest possible read. Your own play volume swings the offer, promo overlays come and go, and the monthly cadence is lumpy by design. Two batches back to back tell you almost nothing about direction.
Same-month year-over-year strips most of that out. July slots against July: same position in RC's promotional calendar, same shoulder-season sailing mix, same general offer posture. Whatever's left in the delta is closer to a real trend line than anything a month-to-month glance gives you. That's the only comparison worth running, and it's the one nobody has the paperwork to run.
Reading 2507 against 2607
Here's the useful part: the codes date themselves before the PDF even renders. Take one from the corpus, 2506D01. The first four digits are a stamp, year then month, so 2506 is June 2025, and D01 is the stem that batch used for the ~25K bucket. The 40K bucket that same month carried 2506DVIP2.
Run the stamp forward and the comparison writes itself. July 2025's certs read 2507, July 2026's read 2607. Line up 2507D01 against 2607D01 for the sub-Signature player and 2507DVIP2 against 2607DVIP2 one tier up, and you have the two cleanest year-over-year pairs available. The values below are pulled straight off both PDFs.
The player at 24K, deciding whether to book
Play it out. You're at 24,000 points in August, one good cruise short of Signature, and the 2607 batch is live. You read the stamp, confirm you're in the D01 bucket, and pull the value. Then you make one call: does this cert clear your book-now bar, or do you sit on your points and wait for the fall batch?
The honest answer depends on the delta. If July 2026 held or beat July 2025 at your tier, there's no reason to wait, the batch is doing its job. If it came in lighter than last year, waiting only pays if you expect the fall offers to bounce, and there's no evidence they will. Booking against a known cert beats gambling on an unknown one.
What a held number would mean for sub-Signature players
The delta isn't just this month's booking math, it's a tell about who RC still wants at the tables. A monthly cert that held year over year at the 25K and 40K buckets says the line is still actively courting mid-tier players, not just its whales. A cert that thinned at those buckets while the top tiers stayed rich says the opposite, that the sub-Signature player is being nudged to either climb or spend more to stay worth mailing.
For the 20K-30K reader, the verdict lives in that comparison. Pull both years side by side and the direction becomes obvious. Either way, you now have the anchor this July that you didn't have last July.
The anchor you keep for next July
The reason this comparison is hard has nothing to do with math. It's that last July's PDF is gone. It got skimmed, screenshotted, buried in a phone camera roll, and lost. Every year the same players ask the same question and every year the document that would answer it isn't there.
SailQuery is the fix that's boring on purpose: it keeps every cert PDF you've ever pulled, filed by tier and batch, so next July the 2607 you're reading now is already sitting next to whatever 2707 turns out to be. No re-hunting, no guessing from memory. The whole thing runs in your browser and never ships your offer history to anyone's server, which for people who've watched RC's own portal drop old offers is most of the point.
What we're tracking next
Two things are worth watching from here. First, whether the fall batch holds the July line or confirms a slide, which turns a single YoY delta into an actual trend. Second, whether the annual tier certs for sub-Signature players move in the same direction as the monthly ones or diverge, because a line that thins the monthlies while propping the annual is running a very different retention play than one that thins both.
We'll run the same code-stamp read on the next batch and update the comparison when it drops.
