The Club Royale glossary
Plain-language definitions for the terms that show up in your offers, on the monthly Instant Rewards Certificate, and across Royal Intel. Rooted in Royal Caribbean's published Club Royale mechanics.
- Club Royale
- Royal Caribbean's casino loyalty program. It rewards onboard casino play with annual tier status, free play, and comp-cruise offers. Points are earned through play and reset on a yearly tier cycle.
- Instant Rewards Certificate
- The comp-cruise offer Royal Caribbean issues to Club Royale players, roughly once a month. Each certificate lists sailings grouped into points tiers; the higher the tier, the more ships, longer cruises, and better cabin types a player can redeem.
- Points tier (on a certificate)
- The redemption levels a monthly certificate groups its sailings into. Higher points tiers open more sailings and better cabins. This is distinct from the annual status tiers below: it describes a certificate's offer levels, not your yearly Club Royale standing.
- Tier credits / points
- Earned from casino play during the tier year. They determine your annual Club Royale status and which offers you receive. Points earned in the calendar year set the status you hold until the following April 1.
- Annual status tiers (Choice, Prime, Signature, Masters)
- Club Royale's four yearly status levels, by points earned: Choice (1 to 2,499), Prime (2,500 to 24,999), Signature (25,000 to 99,999), and Masters (100,000 or more). Higher tiers add perks and better complimentary stateroom categories.
- Tier year
- Club Royale's earning period. Tier credits earned during the calendar year set your status, which you then hold until the next April 1, when the year resets.
- Comp / comped cruise
- A complimentary or heavily discounted cruise earned through casino play, redeemed through a certificate offer. The cabin category and sailing depend on your points tier and the month's certificate.
- Free play
- Casino credit issued as a benefit or promotional offer, playable in the onboard casino. A common Club Royale perk, separate from comp-cruise certificates.
- Offer type
- The category of a specific certificate sailing, describing the comp or cabin type offered for that sailing. SailQuery captures each sailing's offer type when it parses the monthly certificate.
- Sailing
- A specific dated cruise, with a ship, departure date, itinerary, and length in nights, available under a points tier on a certificate. The monthly certificate is, at heart, a list of these.
